Since I’m so pissed and fed up with the ill treatment I think I’ve endured in this country, I’m saying signora to this land of headaches and heartaches. As I’m positive I won’t be hired to any jobs back home, no masters degree and Oklahoma has virtually no jobs, I’ve decided to use the 6,000 Turkish lira I’ve saved and travel around Europe. I’m tired of teaching people English for the moment. It’s time to leave. I’m still unsure about things but consarn-it I will always be and I should do something for me for once since I won’t be able to when I’m back in the States. Here’s my tentative plan. Backpack across the world. Okay, that was vague. Here are a few places I’d like to visit in no particular order:
- Southern Italy
- France (the regions I never made it to see 3 years ago)
- Czech Republic
How will I do this with the Lira so weak? I haven’t a clue but I’m going to work it out. I’m planning to use couchsurfing, workaway, camping, teaching English, or working at a resort or hostel to fund my way. I’m very scared. I feel like this is super dangerous for a single, solo black American female to be doing this in some areas, but I’m going to try anyways. I’m also worried how I’m going to stay a vegetarian on the road as well. Sigh.
Literally walking, backpacking, cycling, renting a motorbike, trains, buses, low cost carriers. I might even consider hitch-hiking; I’m afraid of that though..
A few sites I’ll be scouring since they might have some rideshares or something.
Bus other Transportation sites that are cheap. Obviously I’ll plan this well and try and buy my things as early as possible.
Check these sites for more information. I’ll keep you updated; I also haven’t forgotten that I want to be in France. I might can combine the two.
